Living in Avondale

Annual events such as the horse-drawn Parada del Sol parade and the Buckeye Open golf tournament bring diverse crowds to the city. McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, located in the heart of Avondale, is the most unique park of its kind in the country. Take a ride on the Paradise and Pacific Railroad and the antique carousel. Shopping opportunities abound. With more than 5500 retail stores, malls, boutiques and outlets, Avondale has evolved into one of the premiere shopping cities in all of the southern United States. The city houses many high-end stores, catering to youthful, fashion-conscious and wealthy consumers. There are corporate retail outlets just as there are smaller family-owned boutiques.
